Digital Water Jet Cutting Attachment

In January 2008, SYRI acquired a digital attachment equipped with a high-pressure water jet cutting system. Like the new technology, Syri Ltd. has changed a lot over the past 50 years. The company has had to respond to demand in order to stay in the race.

All of the work which was previously done manually, from design to administration, now uses computer technology. At the manufacturing level it’s another matter – the tools have evolved but the basic method has remained the same - with men equipped with welders. Even with proper working methods and a wonderful team, to stay competitive we have to find ways of increasing our manufacturing productivity. We owe these developments to our loyal employees who make up a wonderful team and who know how to overcome new challenges.

The digital water jet cutting attachment allows for the cutting of all metal and wood with a thickness of up to 6 inches while handling sheets or panels reaching dimensions of 120 inches in length by 66 inches in width. Design plans can be directly routed to the digital attachment in order to proceed with the cutting. The highly sophisticated attachment adjusts the cuts to maximize the number of pieces cut inside each of the sheets or panels, and thus eliminates unnecessary loss of material. This generates substantial savings of primary materials.

Having better autonomy in the manufacturing of its products and in adding outside material cutting contracts, SYRI will now be able to considerably increase its capacity to produce and to create related employment opportunities. By doing the water jet cutting tasks themselves, the company expects an increase in quality control and a shorter production time frame. Thus, a savings of time and money.
